What is Mibbit?
Introduction to Mibbit:
Mibbit is a Web-based IRC Client and is the most widely used one for chat rooms as well. It also supports Yahoo Messenger and Twitter but is mostly used for IRC.It was initially developed by Jimmy Moore and was released in 2007.
Features:
Mibbit's interface works completely within a browser and is very easy to chat from. It provides a very friendly environment to its users which is easy to use. It can be used by individuals and also by IRC channel owners as a widget.Its widget support makes it even more popular among folks.
Mibbit also supports aliases or short commands. They have their own IRC Servers but it is popular mostly with other servers. They use CGIIRC protocols to connect to different IRCds for example InspIRCd, UnrealIRCd etc.
What makes it different from other IRC clients?
Unlike typical PC clients used to access IRC server, Mibbit's interface can be modified and it can be changed to whatever shape or color you want. You can even resize the widget to fit within your webspace. For individual users, Mibbit also provides a logging facility. Other facilities offered by Mibbit to both individuals and widget users are their link shortener and pastebin.Mibbit however, DOES NOT SUPPORT any kind of file transfer or DCC.
