What is Eggdrop?
Introduction:
An Eggdrop is the most famous IRC (Internet Relay Chat) bot and is still being properly maintained.Eggdrop can be run 24/7 on a shell (if your shell provider allows) and can take care of your IRC channel via the scripts you load in it.
Eggdrop also has some pre-loaded scripts and some pre-installed functions (e.g. permanent channel bans, kicks) that can help you control your channel even when you are not around.
Furthermore, if you have your own IRC daemon, you can grant IRC Operator (IRCop) access to your eggdrop and load the respective scripts so it would act like a services bot.
Eggdrop now is maintained by Eggheads.
